HEITZ CELLAR CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY

£77.95

Founded by pioneering Napa growers Joe and Alice Heitz in 1961 they've helped shape the history of Napa winemaking, including the first of Napa's single vineyard Cabernets and the world famous Heitz' Cellar's Martha's Vineyard.

Harvested from their vineyards spanning six sub-appellations throughout the Napa Valley, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers a full composition of the breadth of Napa Valley as a whole.

Each vintage, Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is harvested from vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford, Howell Mountain, St. Helena, Oak Knoll, and Calistoga. Each vineyard lot is kept separate and unblended during fermentation and also while aging in French oak barrels. Their winemaker continuously tastes the various lots throughout the first two years of its time in barrel. When decisions have been made to select the exceptional barrels of wine for our single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons, the remaining barrels are blended together to become our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The Napa Valley Cabernet spends another year in bottle before its release from our cellar.

On the nose, notes of black cherry, blackberries, ripe raspberry and plum are complemented by savoury herbal notes and a gentle vanilla lift. On to the palate there is great power and finesse with smooth tannins and a refreshing, yet lingering finish that compels you to go back for another sip.
