Apply Within Chenin Blanc 2023 is made to be enjoyed now, it is a big white wine that impresses in the glass. 20% of the Chenin Blanc blend is a skin fermented in concrete eggs that give a very rounded rich wine. 80% is combined from two picks in the vineyard, one young that gets freshness and the crisp acidity you expect from Chenin, while the second a little later gives that spice pot of flavour reminiscent of the best Loire Chenin’s. There is a lovely body to this wine thanks to 9 months aging in used French Oak, the soft kiss of vanilla to the citrus fruit flavours are a stand up to some big flavours. It might be too early to get the ceramic BBQ out of the shed but you would struggle to find a wine better for enjoying over Easter, peach and pears work well with garlic or rosemary.
